Recent Events 



   

~ A solo exhibit of Raymond Hu's paintings will be held at the Lynn House Gallery, administered by the City of Antioch's Civic Arts Commission, Nov. 12-Dec. 17, 1998.  The exhibit  is open Tues. through Thurs., 12-3 pm,  and Sat. and Sun., 1-4 pm, with an Opening Reception on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2-5 pm.  The address of  Lynn House Gallery is:  809 First St., Antioch, CA 94531; telephone: (925) 779-7018.

   

~ Five of Raymond's paintings are on display at the Antioch City Council Chamber in an art show by people with disabilities from July to August, 1998.

   

~ Raymond was invited to present his art work and gave a talk on "What it is like to be an artist?" at the National Down Syndrome Society Conference, July 8-11, 1998, Delavan, Wisconsin.  Both his paintings and talk received high accolades from the attendees.  Raymond enjoyed meeting many new friends at the conference.

   

~ Raymond's Portrait, a half-hour documentary by award-winning producer Donald Young, and featuring Raymond Hu's art and life, is regularly  rebroadcast on KCSM-TV60, San Mateo, California.  The documentary is available for purchase from NAATA.  For more information, see Raymond's Portrait.

 

~ At a reception for his exhibit at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, Oakland City Councilmember Henry Chang, Jr, declared August 20, 1997 "RAYMOND HU DAY" in the City of Oakland.

   

~ A book of Raymond's art The Eyes of Raymond Hu is available for purchase.  Included in the book are 42 color plates of his paintings of animals.
