A: Emulation ROMs are programs that run on the emulators. In this case, the emulation ROMs will be NES games.
Q: How are NES ROMs made?
Q: Is this legal?
A: Absolutley not. However, there is a way to rationalize it so it seems legal. Technically, the files you download are not illegal. When you unzip them they are not illegal. When you use them they are still not illegal. The only way that these emulators and/or emulation ROMs are in any way illegal is if you do not have the written consent of the manufacturer and you keep it in your possesion for more than 24 hours. Just think of it as doing a good deed for mankind. By using an emulator an emulation ROMs, you prevent wasting precious natural resources to power factories that mass produce game carts and consoles. Instead, you use the ever present memory of computers. BTW Technically, it is also illegal to tape songs from the radio.
Q: What's so great about emulators?
A: Emulators allow people of all classes, despite their economic condition (not totally however since you still need an ISP and a modem), to enjoy timeless classic video games. They allow you to get a whole lot of games you wanted to buy but never had enough money too. We all know that in the Console vs. computer debate for games that the console wins hands down? Why, you may ask? Because of one simple fact. Consoles were made for games. Computers were originally made for work and eventually games crept there way in. Emulators allow you to bring console games onto your computer.
