This is where my hike begins, at the overlook at Skyview and Parkhaven. Alas, the aperture of my camera is too small to capture Mount Diablo and the Martinez marina, but believe me, they are there. This view is breathtaking when taken as a whole. Over the last year and a half, I have learned to appreaciate it as a cathartic location, one at which inspiration seems to flow so easily. It is here that all of life's difficulties seem to make more sense. College, growing up, everything is put into its proper perspective here.
When the breeze blows through the wild grass, the ensuing symphony of nature is the most relaxing, most peaceful thing I have ever heard.
