Welcome to Marine Biology II
ATDP Summer Session '95
Our Class Photo
- Welcome! In this class we learned about the ocean, its inhabitants, and how they interact with each other. Class was held twice a week, in the life sciences building at U.C. Berkeley, for six entire weeks.
- Every day we began by going over our homework, and boy did we have a lot of it! Our teacher, Jamie Marantz, insisted that it would only take four hours to complete, but... after that we took pages and pages of lecture notes, then ended the class with a nice, long, smelly lab.
- Labs ranged from observation of nudibranchs mating to identifying organisms, to dissection, and even more dissection. The specimens that were brought to our class, and mutilated in lab, were really valuable to us because some of these things we will never get to see any where else. They were collected by U.C. collectors--who know how to not ruin the environment, hopefully.
- There were a total of twenty students in the class, one eccentric teacher, and a quiet T.A. Over the six week course we were able to learn something, and we can prove it! Read on and see!
