Sports Camp through Cal Youth Outdoor Programs
(On-site extended day-care)
For a separate fee, the UC Berkeley Intercollegiate Athletics Recreational Sports Department Cal Youth Outdoor Programs (CYOP) offers an on-site sports camp for ATDP students. Students enrolled in either morning or afternoon classes will have the opportunity to participate in a sports camp which is held at Washington School and is developed by CYOP especially for our students.
By combining a half-day ATDP class with the half-day sports camp, participating students will have a full day of activity and balance between academics and sports. Students who enroll in ATDP morning classes will be met at their classrooms at noon by Sports Camp staff, who will supervise the students during lunch and then lead them in a range of sports and activities until 4:15 p.m. Students who enroll in ATDP afternoon courses will meet the CYOP staff at 8:45 a.m. and will participate in sports and activities and a supervised lunch time until they are taken to their classrooms at 1:00 p.m.
For an additional fee, CYOP also offers sports camp on Wednesdays and extended care for students before and after classes. CYOP is planning to have all of these special activities either at Washington School or within walking distance of the school.
This special program is available only to students enrolled in the Academic Talent Development Program. If you wish to receive enrollment and fee information from CYOP, include with your application an index card or postcard with your name, address, and "sports camp" written on it. CYOP will send a brochure to you directly when it is ready this spring.
CYOP also offers a full slate of exciting activities that are open to the community at large. If you would like to receive further information regarding their summer offerings, please call 510-643-2267 or check out their website at http://calbears.berkeley.edu (this link will take you off site).
